BIOGRAPHY

Anthony Berarco is a New York-based fine art photographer, specializing in fashion, portrait, and still life photography.

Originally studying fashion design, Berarco became captivated by early 20th century fashion photography, and the methods by which these genre-defining images were created. He learned photography by strictly shooting with large format film cameras, which, combined with his background in fashion, laid the foundation for his recognizable aesthetic.

Berarco’s images are unique in that they most often appear simultaneously classical and contemporary — an effect he achieves by combining traditional photography methodologies with modern subjects. This approach allows him to conceptualize truly original imagery and imbue any setting with a strong sense of style.

Berarco’s images incorporate beauty in all forms, combining thoughtful details and soft colors with a fresh and revitalizing approach to image-making that holds quality as its foremost value. In addition to his photography work, Berarco guest lectures for FIT’s History of Fashion Photography program in New York City.
